I worked on the project of the central bank of germany in Hanover for eleven months until November 2014. After that I returned back to Cologne with a complete changed mindset and future expectation. Thoughts came up as questioning our standard career system, independency and putting self-realization into focus instead of money and status. But I was able to suppress all this and continue my way as an software engineer on his way to become an architect. This would allow me to earn more money and achieve a higher status in the company.

Side information: I saved some money from the project in Hanover and as a matter of a personal appreciation for my parents, who did so much for me and gave me the opportunity to become who I am, I decided to buy them a new car for the 50th birthday of my father. That meant a lot to me. Not the materialistic part, but the emotional part and the respect I feel for them.

So after my adventure in Hanover I worked four more l months inhouse in Cologne before starting my biggest project as an employee: I´ve got introduced to the insurance inventory management called PSLife and jumped in April 2015 right into a project in Mannheim to introduce the system into the customers environment. This project is so big, that I´m still working on it today. In the past three and a half years I experienced again an extremely high learning curve and reached a high standing for the client. Even I was able to increase my salary, working in a project what I loved and got respected by all collegues my deep inner desire never faded.

Side information: In April 2015 I bought my first flat in Cologne by trying to become an investor somehow. It was basically triggered by reading the book Investment Punk by Gerald Hörhan, which increased my mindset on the financial aspect but also activated again my inner desire to become self-employed.

I could fight it in 2015, I was able to calm myself in 2016 and even in the first half of 2017 I told myself everyday that it would not make sense to leave the company at this stage: I´ve got everything I wanted. Wrong. I wanted to be free and independent. Right. It was September 2018 when the desire took over. I realized that it was too late to review everything. It was too late to press break. Too late to turn around. It was time.

I will never forget how I wrote my termination, printed it and hold it against my job contract from 2013. I was thinking about the fact that I was so proud starting in a big company. So proud for getting an offer from adesso, the company I loved to be. But I also realized that life is a sequence of decisions and opportunities. I decided for myself to jump into uncertainty to find out if this freelancing thing is something I would like and feel comfortable with because it suits my own type. By that I mean that I was always the guy who started projects on his own, was extremely motivated for self-education and got his own company and employees somehow years ago. I am relating right now to my movie making time, but we will cover this on seperate time line.

Side information: Just a few months before quitting my job I was able to achieve one of the biggest goals so far: I bought a house near Cologne and moved in with my parents and my brother. We will also cover this one in a separate article.

As I had to work for adesso for three more months by contract, I started as a freelancer from January 2018 on. But I quickly realized that freelancing will be just another stop. My next goal is becoming an entrepreneur by level myself up to a Business Model Developer. This will cover to help individuals and companies to establish digital products in a lean way, by using modern technology and agile proceed models.

Guys, I think we made it. This is my basic story. Now we will dive into it in more detail covering my time as an asylum seeker, my activities as an movie maker and my future plans in seperate articles.
